Well I finally did it. Purchased a used non-running Chinese scooter to see how long she will last. More posts to come.

If you replace all the poor Chinese quality parts and repair all the poor quality Chinese workmanship, it should be a good scooter. If I would have done that with my 07 Roketa, I might still be riding it today. But I saved my time and put the $$$$ into my 07 Yammy which I "am" still riding today.

Well after 5+ years of fixing scoots, we went off the deep end. We have had many Chinese scoots come in to the shop in the last 3 years, found that most Roketa and Lance seem to be the worst, So 5+ weeks ago we went craiglist shopping for a Chinese project of our own. Found a 2008 Roketa MC-03 150 non running with 295 miles on her with a notarized title( important in AZ ), got the owner down to $ 300.00 for the scoot. Loaded it in the truck and off to the shop. Made room in the corner for the new addition, my zumas, kitted 50 & 125 and my vespa were not happy but my T-Max could care less.
The last owner told me that the mc03 sat for over six months. We did some quick checking and found the stator was bad. Replaced the stator and she came to life. |

After she fired up, we let her warm up, tightened some nuts & bolts checked tire pressure and jumped on the scoot for our first ride. Didn't go too far in-case there was issues. The carb seemed to be gummed up and dirty, she would bog and hiccup from quarter throttle on up. Got back to shop and added some Re-Stor ( our own witches brew ) to the gas tank and ran the engine for a few minutes. Put the brain bucket on again and went out.
The Re-Stor fixed the carb problem and she was running great. Put about 8 miles on it and went back to the shop. As of yesterday we have 590 miles on the little Asian wonder and she is running fine(kinda surprised). To date list of items done to scoot; Purchased scoot -$ 300.00 2 year plates & title -$ 38.00 Stator -$ 35.00 Changed oils -$ 10.00 Re-Stor fuel additive -$ 9.95 Charged battery Tightened fasteners Cleaned her up This little test is to see how long this Roketa will last with in town commuting miles and with a minimal investment . |

And $ 6.00 for gas

295 miles isn't all that bad for a Roketa. Mine went about 800 miles before it crapped out. Mine must have been one of the better quality ones. LOL |

Just got 2 more Roketa's running for customers today. Same electrical issues. What alot of people fail to realize is that most Roketa's are Jonway's with a Roketa sticker
