My Norge is almost a yr old (1-8-07) 12k mikes so far and love every minutes of riding the Norge (so does my wife). You just can't go wrong.
p.s. I also have Cal EV Tour but still prefer the Norge.

Norge 1200, first 2500 miles

Well, after 2500 miles the engine finally feels broken in. The bike moves fast and accelerates quite faster now than it had initially. The torque in the lower gears pushes the bike effortlessly down the highway.

Too bad I do a lot of street riding to work. Now that it has the right feel, I need an open road to move it.

Enjoy

Mine is on order from Italy to make sure I get the latest spect etc... I am trading in a Honda VFR 1998 model. A superb bike but I have always hankered after a big V twin and I tour Europe a lot. I have also considered Sprint, Tiger, RT, GS, none of them being V's also the Breva and the Stelvio and in the end the Norge is the only one that ticks all the boxes. Torque is lost on the 8V and the Breva is too naked. Have I test ridden one? no. There's bound to be at least one thing I don't like about it and I want one, end of.

PICKED UP MY 2008 RED NORGE TWO DAYS AGO AWSOME MACHINE! BE SURE TO CHECK THAT THE DEALER INSTALLS AND LOCKS THE PANNIERS CORRECTLY. LOST ONE AND THE OTHER WAS NEVER LOCKED.

I am:

living in Nevada and riding Guzzis.

Like many on this topic, I too am looking forward to getting a new Norge. Several 2007s are available at reasonable prices around the US.

You don't have to be near a dealer either, as shipping is no problem: about $600US from the dealer to your door.

I am in agreement with "Warthog" from the U.K. in that the Breva, while a nice bike, is too naked for me. I like the ABS brakes and protection afforded by the body work.

For long-time Norge owners who have not chimed in lately, what is your impression of the bike after owning and riding it for a year or more?

I've had my Norge since August 2007. This bike felt comfortable and easy to corner when I took the test ride, and that has not changed.
The only thing that threw me at first was the first gear "lurch" when making a hairpin parking lot turn. I quickly learned to compensate for that by keeping the clutch in the friction zone.
I enjoy the sleek look and throaty sound of the engine and the distinctive cluth sound of the Norge, and happily call myself a "guzzista"!!!

I have around 1800 miles on my Norge and love it. I decided on the Norge over the BMW R1200RT and I am glad I did. The Norge is a joy to ride and I am not used to all the attention that I get whenever I stop for gas etc. People come up to my Norge and just stare at it and finally will say something like "damm, what a beautiful bike". Plus, it is one of the best sounding bikes that I have owned. Tons of low end power.

Torque is lost on the 8V? Have you ridden a 8V?
