thinking about this 82 1000sp. 34,000 miles.$2750.00 runs good, cosmetically a bit challenged. what to look out for?

I'm just seeing this and it about 2 weeks old. My advice is to JUMP on it. Guzzi's are pretty much bulletproof and extremely simple to work on if you have any mechanical ability at all. The worst case senario would be if the Nikasil liner is worn off one of the cylinder bores. That was a process that Guzzi used to coat the cylinders. It was like chrome and the pistons rode up and down the liners. Even if the "chrome" is worn off, replacement "jugs" can be found and replacing one is a few hour job. The only other thing I can think of is if the bike has the 2 point ignition system. If memory serves me the one set of points are the same as a Fiat and a few bucks at the auto parts store, but the other was pretty specific to the marque and rather expensive to buy. I'm thinking $30 or so back in the 1980's
