I purchased a leftover 2004 California EV in the spring of 2005. I bought it on eBay from a dealer in Florida and had it shipped by truck to MA. When it was delivered I tried to start,- dead battery. I called the dealer and he said he would ship a bettery to me if I wanted. I went to a local dealer who gave me a brand new battery - no charge, because the bike had no miles on it.
Moto Guzzi's can sit around for a year or two before they are sold and the batteries go bad. I am happy with my California, rides and handles sweet, has enough power for me, and I love that guzzi exhaust note!

I bought a new Moto Guzzi Griso in April,i was advised by my dealer, that if i leave any large modern motorcycle unused for more than a couple of weeks,i should use a battery optimiser,to keep the battery charged up whilst not in use.I had one fitted, easily done by owner if you wanted to,i went away for 2 months, and my Griso started and ran perfect first time.
By the way,all Guzzi's come with a 2yr warranty and breakdown assistance, not used mine after 6,ooo miles.
Far more fun than a BMW,i know.

Just bought a used Moskito and the guy told me that it does not recharge the battery as it drives. Anyone with a suggestion?
Also, is there a place to order a service manual from?
