Norge 8v spark plug caps and poor low-speed fuel mapping

Anyone have problems w/bad spark plug caps?
My brand new 8v has already had two visits to the dealer to replace the caps. They are shorting out to the engine, and a big mis-fire results.
Anyone know if NGK makes a cap for it?
I am not real happy with the performance of the engine below 3k rpm. It stutters, shudders, stumbles as if the mixture is way lean. The dealer made sure the mapping of the injection is the newest available, but it still runs like crap.I've owned several big v-twins and they all ran better.

try running marvels mystery oil, seafoam or starbright in conjunction with non oxy gas. been doing it in several fuel injected bikes now with good results, esp. the epa challenged newer ones without aftermarket fuel enrichers.

NGK makes a replacement boot which should eleminate the spark problem. I am using ACCEL 8MM super stock plug wires with molded silcone boots, the change is outstanding.
