I went and sat on the new 105xc the other day and I REALLY want to buy one. I'm a new rider so I'm wondering if paying twice as much for a KTM as apposed to a Honda or something else is really worth it for me. Lookin' for any advice from anyone that has a 105xc or knows a lot about it, I need all the good and bad so I can get me a new bike!!:) Thanx ya'll!!!

Hi Jess - I think the answer is - it depends how well you ride and what you use it for. If you want a race bike its an edgy, nasty, snarling beast that needs a stream of money to get the suspension race worthy and to keep on top of the engine maintenanc - and a lot of skill and commitment to ride, but after that it has the ability to help you to win races, and thats the only thing that really matters.
If you want to play and are just beginning - buy an easier bike to live with - maybe not as cool, but better.
If you really are just starting - I would definitely not buy a new bike first unless you are minted - I'd buy a 2nd hand soft 4 stroke like a TTR 125 or older Honda, learn the clutch, gears, drive, corners, jumps, and get my falling off done on that, then chop it in for a race bike.
Its just my opinion - you do what you feel and don't worry about it- dirt bikes are the best.
Good luck !

Amy: you will never regret spending the extra dough on the KTM,they are definitely in a class of their own.Change the gear oil 2 or 3 times a year and it will last for years without needing a re-build.Believe me-all the jap bike riders will tell you horror stories about ktm's,but the truth is ,is that they have never owned one or even ridden one.
