Ted, Just found your comment from last May,'08. I, too, have a '94 VF750 Magna, 11,000 miles and the engine knock is terrible. Who did you get to fix yours? No one in this area has any experience with the problem.
Where did you find the service bulletin?
Any help would be appreciated. I love the bike and want to keep it but am afraid the "knock" will damage the engine.
VFR750 was sold in May of 2010 - now ride a BMW R1200RT. Search the web for the service bulletin. Show it to a Honda Powerhouse dealership and get a quote. They will do the job. Price was high but I was satisfied with work. Loved the VFR750 until I bought the BMW. The RT is everything I could possibly want in a bike!

Hi all,
I have a question about a 1994 Honda Magna I just purchased. The left cylinder bank doesn't fire up until the bike reaches 3000 rpm and then the bike runs good. A fellow told me that that's the way the bike is designed. I dont believe it.
Shouldnt all four cylinders be firing from idle?
Ive been in these motors and know em pretty well, and I believe u have a carb issue, would bet on the slow jet in yur carb being cloged, and all these other people with there top end noise, most likely just need to re shim there valves, it wears a lil up there and gets lose

Well I had the service bulletin performed on my '94 Magna this fall. Cannot tell if it is the synthetic oil or the new lubrication channels added but the bike is noticeably smoother and quieter at idle. Had the work performed by a Honda dealership. They had to search around for the bulletin at other dealerships but finally got all the technical info.
Ted, where do i find that service bulletin?
