Wow, I didn't realize Memphis was so full of quick-witted people.

Back on Topic: If someone wants to something that's their property to experiment, shut up and mind your own business. They're not doing it to your property and if it keeps them occupied and helps us acheive a future that involves us not being dependent on foreign oil, more power to them.

Only an OKIE would dare think of desecrating a HARLEY, why don't they do it to a rice burner instead?

I can't speak for the car folk, but as far as motorcycles are concerned it is about safety.
That's absurd, and has long since been debunked. The greatest danger to a cyclist comes from the front, whereas most of the dreadful racket from a Harley or other loud bike is directed to the rear. If the concern had anything at all to do with the safety of the cyclist, instead of adding louder pipes they'd stick an always-on horn on the front of the bike.

I never did understand why people try to get their vehicles to be louder. Just didn't make sense to me. When I hear a car or bike rumbling by, makes me think something is wrong with it and it needs repairs.
It's to keep the RIDER ALIVE! Most folks driving cars quite frankly don't pay attention to what's going on around them. They have a tendency to just merge right into motorcyclists because they don't see them at first glance or via their mirrors. It's kinda hard to miss a Harley coming up in your blind spot...

As a rider for 20+ years I will say this - If you need loud pipes to keep you safe, you need to have your endorsement revoked. It's all about defensive driving people. You have to get in saddle knowing that 50% of the people can't see you and the other 50% are trying to kill you on purpose. Drive like that's the truth and be smart and you'll be OK. As for riding into someone's blind spot, there's this little thing called a "throttle". Get your a$$ up and use your head.

Obnoxious maybe, but the noise saves lives.
why don't you keep screaming and yelling whenever you walk across any street to make sure all cars see you?

you have a honk, use it!! and use your reaction, judgment and skill!! NOT noise.

Try going on a cross country trip on an electric harley and having to find an outlet in the middle of the desert to charge up your battery. Why can't we just switch over to alternative fuels instead so we can still enjoy our bikes and run clean at the same time?

What would really save lives is if the Harley fools would learn how to ride and stop drinking and riding. Not condeming all, but the majority who's idea of going on a ride is to go from one bar to another.

Broken Arrow, you need to work on your customer skills...you have your right to you pinion, but you don't just go around insinuating things like this and expect to win support...

Ditch the Harley plan, and convert rice burners instead!...it seems only natural!(maybe try a Gold Wing, they're already quiet!...and lots of room for batterys!)
