I'M SURE THIS WILL NOT BE THE END OF ERIK AND HIS GREAT CREATIONS! He could continue solo or any serious manufacturer would be interested in his talents.<quoted text>
A salesman from an HD dealership told me the Buell owners killed the line themselves, because they would not support their local HD/Buell dealerships. I am still amazed. Buell made such effective machines. It is a good feeling to ride a bike that was purposefully designed and built.

the economy killed Buell, when a company sees falling sales numbers of their main brand, the need to re-coup cost elsewehere. also, when they want to enter a lucritive market like India, they need to spend a boatload of money as well. I own a 200 Thunderbolt, a great ride have 30K miles and wiht some care, it runs fantastic, just goes through tires, if you can imagein that. Also bought a ULY when HD announced the closing of Buell. A sweet ride as well...if you have not ridden a Buell you just do not know what you are missing or discussing. I also own a RK, a couple Sporty's, a small Suzuki and a 40 year old Honda so if you ride, ride a Buell before you judge one.
