Homosexual "marriage" was crammed down our throats even though the majority oppose it.

Most other states let their citizens vote on the subject but we had no say in the matter.

Let the people vote!

Rights are protected by the courts.

We see this all the time. Voting rights, the right to marry someone of a different race, the right to public access even if you're the wrong color, the right to equality in education, and on and on and on. The public didn't want ANY of the above.

It seems humans are just built to be bigots.

Anything else is a taste we have to work to acquire. We should be proud to be part of that work.

Did you see the NH house just approved a bill legalizing gay marriage?

I would've liked to hear the founding fathers deal with a nation like we have today. The US of the 1770s was an underpopulated backwater, and the only states that have remained "free" are the underpopulated backwaters.

If we wanted an eternally libertarian nation, maybe we should've thought about what would happen when people actually began living in close proximity to each other. You'll see that list is very closely tied to the percent of the state living in urban areas.

Didn't at least a few of the founding fathers believe the ideal American was the farmer and were afraid of the effects of the quickly-coming industrialization and therefore urbanization that the US was facing? After all, during our Revolution, that was precisely what was going on in England.

Didn't at least a few of the Founding Fathers believe that slavery was OK also?
Why do we think that somehow their beliefs were somehow sacred?
