I keep hearing that people just don't respect motorcyclists. I don't think it's that as much as they just don't catch the motorists Eyes. They just miss seeing them. That is not the motorcyclists fault but they pay the price.

I used to ride but I have caught times where if I didn't or hadn't looked that extra time I might have missed seeing one come by.

Just a reason motorcyclists always have to be aware of what is going on around them. I guess it goes the same for autos. Just the motorcyclists are the bigger losers between the two.

A safety course is the best ides. Being an ex truck driver I have taken the Smith System of driving classes. The principles outlined in this course pertain to heavy trucks cars motorcycles and even in competition on the race track. Fron 30 years of experience riding motorcycles I can give the following advice: always when riding DRIVE DEFENSIVELY AND DO NOT CONSUME ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES IN ANY AMOUNT WHEN RIDING Also assume that the car operator does not see you usually they dont. I also advise when turning even though you have electric turn signals use hand signals too. The hand signals seem to bring better attention because the turn signals on most motorcycles are smaller than car turn signals. Always make shure your tail lights are working properly. I am not going to preach on the helmet debate I am not for mandantory helmet laws but I personally wear a helmet by choice If you are over 21 that paticular choice is left up to you. Just some insights to maybe help and maybe save a life SHOVELHEAD GARDEN CITY BEACH SC

What a pathetic joke. How much did SDPS pay for these DVDs???????

More outright stupid waste in government. Just like MUSC and all the 100s of thousands they spend on printing and mailing out a magazine nobody reads.
