Motorcycle Deaths Rise In N.C.
Motorcycle fatalities are 20 percent higher in the state than this time last year, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, while traffic deaths overall are continuing to decrease statewide.

As to the stats you mentioned as well as the stats for the last few years posted all over, I'd like to know what percentage of all these accidents and deaths are due to sport bikes. There's a definate difference in the riders of sport bikes and a bagger. As far as I'm concerned, at least in this part of the U.S., most all you see on the news is about the carelessness of the younger riders showing off and it makes the rest of us look bad.
