<quoted text>Don't be to sure of that, you THINK you know your neighbors better then I. You may be surprised to find out that I may be one of your neighbors. If you have better things to do, when why aren't you doing them? You give a good speach, but it has little substance.
Two straight weeks of being busy, that leaves quite a bit of down time to do something constructive for your town.
Good luck, can't wait to see what you come up with.
I'm confident and have no issues.
I have better things than getting into ANOTHER towns business. This is my town. You did not read the speech close enough or understand that I was pointing out your involvement in areas outside your own.

Get this through your thick head, you yokel, you don't run things in Gettysburg. You are only allowed to comment here because the cable and phone companies were forced to provide cheap rural internet service to sheep like you in order to be allowed to skirt anti-trust regulations. Without this socialist feature in the law, you would still be hillbillies who think a beeper is high-tech. So don't go getting too big now.

That's why you didn't get your casino. People with real money to invest will go elsewhere because of the prevailing notion that Gettysburg is all backwards redneck hick yokels. The area has never even been on the radar of anyone important for the last 100+ years, due to oatmeal-brained fools like you. Just give it a rest already, you have ruined everything.

Otherwise, the area is so steeped in history and is very much a treasured part of this magnificent Commonwealth.

don't over estimate your ability to "read" people. You still have no clue, but again thanks for playing.

Right. Are you A Shippensburg graduate? Try to focus here... No one argues the fact that those words aren't homophones. Violet-Violent: that's my typographical error. Typographical means an accidental error in arranging the letters, as in intending to type the word "violent" and missing the "n" key and ending up transmitting "violet."i
Only a fool would think that anyone would ever actually confuse the words "violent" and "violet." Even a yokel high school Harry would know the difference between those two words.
Keep with me you moron.....
Your yokel rank and files here seem to make the obvious errors typical of lower socio-economic people who don't know any better because no one cared to teach them. They were more worried about the day-to-day survival issues common to the lower classes than the simple difference between "it's" and "its." The errors you and your colleagues make are errors of poor upbringing, even moreso errors of low birth.
I missed the "n" key on my keyboard because my secretary takes dictation when I correspond with anyone important, so I'm not too concerned about my typing when it comes to you fools.
You yokel fools missed success by a few orders of magnitude by being unwise schmucks, but it becomes you.
Big dummies who want to talk big but are unsophisticated nobodies. You no longer have an audience with Us, be on your way....
Cornell actually. So you took 250 words, give or take a few to rationalize a typographical error. Hardly worth my time to respond.

Good to know. I had you pegged as a busybody sticking your nose in where it doesn't belong.

Sir, these people do not represent the area of Whitestone in any way other than what can I say, everywhere has its problems, even people with behavioral problems, Being in the city has its drawbacks but it has it's advantages too. It is only recently with the influx of Manhattanites seeking more space and cheaper rents that we lost our neighborhood feeling that had existed for nearly a century. We had families that lived in the same houses since they came to this country, we had knickerbocker types, we had a good mix of everyone, and people had respect for one another.

Fellow Forumers, this person or group of people that are responsible for the
Postings from Whitestone DO NOT represent the people of the area. A majority of us were born and raised here and in no way would be acting like the others here who are an embarrassment. Their friends from Gettysburg should be ashamed because it makes their own hometown look very bad.

I can see from reading before that there was a disagreement between a few out of town posters who had visited the area and other people who were full time residents of the Gettysburg area. The Gettysburg residents always seem to gang up on people and dismiss their concerns to me I wonder what are the residents trying to hide?

You see it as “The Gettysburg residents always seem to gang up on people and dismiss their concerns….”

I see it not as locals ganging up on people, but people who are proud of their community defending it against false accusations and statements by people who have no idea what is going on in this community.

You also say “,,,,I wonder what are the residents trying to hide?”

There is nothing to hide. Several posters here, including myself have encouraged people to go to the many sites that identify crime statistics and look at Gettysburg and other communities. Yes, Gettysburg does have some crime. We have people here, both residents and thousands of visitors every year. When you have people, you have crime, unfortunately that is how life is in this country today. But, Gettysburg and Adams County crime is well below the national average. Go check it out yourself.

Well enough of this for today. I think I will go out and enjoy the many events in the area for the day. Don’t think I will go to the re-enactment, I have been to a few and that is enough for me, and too hot for me.. But with three living history encampments not part of the re-enactment I am sure I will meet some wonderful people and learn more about the soldiers life.

how was day out enjoying the history of the area? I'm sure you enjoyed yourself soaking up the many encampment sites and learning about your areas rich history. Aren't you glad that nothing has changed and its remained the quaint little town you've come to love so much?

Listen, all I ever did was come here and defend MY hometown from the Parker Knowles and the other gangsters and troublemakers who
DO NOT represent my native hometown!

I end up getting attacked by other contingents that must be allied with the
Parker Knowles crew, and you seem to always side with those allies, but I would certainly say that you are far more polite than those people.

Yes I did enjoy my day, but it was a bit warm so ended it a bit earlier than I wanted to. Nothing has changed? Have you ever been to Gettysburg? Many things have changed in my time here. Some were, in my mind, good changes, and others, in my mind, not so good.

All communities must change, and Gettysburg is no longer the “quaint little town” that I grew up in and learned to love.

But I live with the changes, I embrace some, and avoid others.

So you come on to defend your hometown based on remarks from someone FROM your home town, and that is acceptable.

But those who live in another town, are not allowed to defend their hometown from false, and unsupported statements that are slanderous toward our community, that are made by people who are not from the community?

Sounds like you have a double standard.

The fact that there is only one of you defending your community while there are a few defending this community, tells me that this community in general may have a bit more pride in what happens here and how people feel about it.
