Wow, Ray, what a brilliant response. It's right up there with your: "some people just cant be happy with what there is to offer." Two truly brilliant defenses for your nonsensical argument of buying an "assembled in America from foreign parts" motorcycle while simultaneously not supporting foreign economies with your money. Here's your reward for such brilliant reasoning, Ray. A new word. And the word is XENOPHOBE which is what you are, Ray. A Xenophobe. Read about yourself here:

Ray, I am sure you are aware that many of us who
own Harley Davidson motorcycles as well as other
bikes are not just about "bashing harley". What
I am concerned with is the path HD is taking leads
to oblivion. Back in the day when AMF was making
crap many complained about the quality. Where they
just "pain in the ars" ?? The oil leaking pan head
led to what? The evo! Why? Because people complained and stopped buying Harley. If harley doesnt get off this retro overheating engine kick,
they may not see the 120 celebration

i believe that they will see 200, just bring the most dependable best engine back the EVO. some of my brothers ride twin cams and though they like them none will badmouth the EVO.when you build stroker motors you have stroker problems.that is the problem i see in the new stuff. all of it, not just harley.

I went to the Honda shop the other day to buy a part for my Fourtrax which needs to be repaired almost every time I ride it. There on the showroom was a new never titled Rune didnt they quit making that turd 2 or three year ago? I dont see any new 05 or 06 harleys anywhere. If harley would build a four wheeler I would buy one. I have tied to sell my 05 fourtrax but it is only worth about half of what I paid for it.

I had an 1993 Fl great bike, When I decided to buy another bike, I was opened minded and started looking at used Honda VTX's. Found several barley used VTX's with less than 1000 miles on then with the upgrages or bling for $3000 less than a new one, same model year. So in 3-4 years the honda would have been worthless, I looked at used Harleys. Used Harleys where selling at near new prices. That is how I ended up with a new 05 Softail. It is three years later 55,000 miles latter, I have never, I mean never had a mechanical issue with this bike, I do the recommended maintence. Oil changes (synthetic), Brake pads and tires. That is it. No overheating, No oil leaks. No problems, NONE!. The only thing I an lax on is cleaning, I rather ride.

bigtony, we must be living in two different
countries, as Harley's in the northeast lose
40% of their purchase price when ridden off
the showroom floor. I dont know a dealer in
NJ that will give you a near-new price on a
trade-in/trade-up. And if you check Ebay, there
are many harley's highly discounted. Maybe in the
1990's you got those prices, not today.

i dont understand all the b.s. about these people who think harley should be in compatition with the forign companies. it is a matter of choice. and true harley lovers will always ride harley and never even inquire about a metric bike. hell most wont even slow down to look at one anyway. so if you like metric then by all means ride that if you want. i, like most true harley riders will stick with the best. if i dont like the new ones then i will buy an old one.

Right Ray, why open your eyes to silly notions such as reality or modern technology. Keep ignoring the world around you, maybe it will go away (if you do enough drugs". All you HD guys run around with obnoxiously loud straight pipes and act all bad ass but when confronted about how slow your harleys are you say "I didn't buy it for the speed". What a joke!

If you'd wake up to the metrics you'd find they offer 110 Cu. in. V-twins that make 100 hp and more, STOCK!

Too bad this forum software cuts off the end of a long URL. Everyone should click on this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch
and search for: bad boy brad
Ray - The first 3 videos that come up are the ones that will train you to be a bad boy biker. It would be even funnier if it wasn't so true!

Look in the cycle trader mags, normally there is 30 to 40 pages of any year thur 08 harleys in there. Also at the honda dealer that I go to there are 5 harley's setting there for sale, all trade in's. Go figure....

The guy I work with bought a new sportster and in 3 months wanted to up grade to hertitage, they wanted him to lose $3000 on trade in. So that holding value is just BS period.

It's called a trade in, then they have to resell it. I can see how this can be confusing.
