Interesting news from BMW, I hope they do well with that model. I have a 1981 CBX that I'm getting back on the road after parking it for about six years, it's a gem and I doubt I'll be spending 30K for a motorcycle anytime soon, as my 30 year old one is doing just fine.

The German Horex VR6 is also available now. Both the BMW and Horex have very narrow engines until the 6 cylinder pioneer (Benelli) or the Honda CBX.

The BMW is the first motorcycle to have a headlight that follows the road as well as all the driver aids such as ABS, ASC, etc.

The K1600 produces about 160 HP. The GL1800 puts out about 115 hp.

I think a new factory stock CBX puts out 103 horses? 160 is a lot. I bet the BMW is lighter than my Super Sport CBX, which wouldn't be hard to do considering the CBX is a boat anchor at 601 lbs.

I just looked at the Horex VR6 videos on youtube and read some about it in an online article, nice looking set up for the inline-ish V6 engine, nice take on that set up.

I wonder what price it will run in the US if it ever gets sold here? 25-35K?

Normally the Japs copy everyone . But not in this case,, Even with all of the covers and other schemes to cover up that BMW ha clearly copied Hondas in line 6 cylinder design. As a CBX owner it is clear to me that they have taken the design of the foreward slanted cylinders to accomodate your legs fitting around the engine as well as adding to balance . And what they call their stacked section , which is the same jack shaft set up on the honda CBX. Honda started racing with 6 bangers in the 60"s some as small as a 250 cc 6 ....So they ave not invented anything here. Jut enhanced an already 3 decade old design. Good try Germany );
