hi , i was wondering if someone has lifan 50qt scooter manual . i want to fix it myself .
when i turn ignition on , the light in the display boz is very dim , and when i press brakes ans electric start switch to start it , it jus dies , horn or indicator lights , nothing works . i m pretty sure battery died . i'd appreciate if someone has he manual. thx
It sounds like a short in the electric somewhere. I would ckeck all of your wires to see if they are not exposed to the frame and also check your battery to see that it is fully charged. My Lifan LF250 grounded out under the seat from repeated pinching between the seat and the frame and shorted out.

I just bought an Eagle 250 (Lifan). It came in a box. A friend helped assemble it. The brake light switch was broken in shipment. Right now, I can't get it to operate without choking it. I think the carb is "jacked". If I can't figure out what's wrong, I'll have to get it replaced.
I also bought saddle bags and a rear bag for accessories. I will have to send them back for replacement. The quality control is really bad. The screw holes for the bag frames do not align with the bike.
I have high expectations once it is running properly, but I am really frustrated at the moment.
I put a mikuni carb on my LGY 200 and replace parts with Honda equivilent when ever something [else] breaks on my Lifan, like the rear disk brakes, electrical switches, throttle, battery box, clutch plates, etc. Good luck!

I ride a Lifan GY 200. and i am having a small problem. it stalls from time to time and boggs down. Is there a fuel filter and where is it. Also does any one know a place to get parts from?
it boggs out you park it doesnt stop running but seems to be going slowly picks up then a few minutes later your doing fine then it happens again It needs air why its doing that shut it off 5 min. drink a water or soft drink before 25 min. ride
Short answer
Your giving it full throttle try 95% or 90% maybe 2 mph slower & no stalls or bog down
Could need a oil change

the kickstand on my GY 200 just snapped in half. Made of super thin-wall HOLLOW tubing! ANOTHER part to be replaced with a HONDA part!

Register it as a "Custom" bike. That's how I FINALLY got registration / insurance in New York state. Pain in the butt!

Try cleaning out the distributor and the fuel jets. My LF250 has a lot of trouble with the fuel jets getting plugged whenever it is in storage, even with fuel stabilizer in it.

Try spraying some EZ Start fluid (ether) into the air cleaner or spark-plug hole. If you have a spark, it should come to life, although briefly.

I had the same problem all last year. It was a tough one to figure out. My problem ended up being ventilation of the gas tank. If the gas cap is too tight, gas will not flow from the tank (gravity fed). I adjusted the screws on my gas cap to allow a little air for ventilation. Have not a 1 problem since!

I PURCHASED A 250CC LIFAN CRUISER FROM AN AMERICAN COMPANY WITH A WARRANTY. EVERYONE I SPEAK TO SAYS THAT THE LIFAN HAS A GREAT MOTOR AND IS A GOOD MOTORCYCLE. I HAVE TRIED TO FIND OUT WHAT PARTS WEAR OUT OR BREAK FIRST. NO ONE SEEMS TO KNOW OR THEY HAVENT HAD ANY PARTS REPLACED YET, WHICH IS HARD TO BELIEVE. ANY RESPONDERS OUT THERE?
THANKS,

I have a 2006 Lifan 250 and love it. We have cruised from Milton to Panama City with no problems. I have had a problem with minor things like the horn....the wires loosened up and the horn mechanism vibrated off! I ride frequently and go at least 40 miles round trip. My husband put on a new horn and stabilized it better than the old one. Something is not connecting with the starter each time...we have to trouble shoot that right now; however, I have not had to replace any other parts. i bought the bike from a lady in 2009. She had only put 9xx miles on it. I am over 7000 miles right now :)
