Frank is obviously clueless. The 'Vic does have some impressive stats, but falls short from there. Harley-Davidson is an American icon. The 'Vic's looks are trendy and will soon fade away as people grow tired of them. Harley's have always been classically styled. While many manufacturers have tried to emulate them (I call those wanna-be's "Hardly-a-Davidsons" ), they just cant compare. The look, the sound....its an American as apple pie.

Went to the Long Beach, CA bike show, test rode alot of bikes including these two. The Victory kicks the HD's a$$ in every aspect that really-really counts=Much better engine design and performance/better designed & performing suspension/way more comfortable well placed ergos/those saddle bags totally rock and spacious/much more! If you want an get an "icon"(status symbol-soo poser-ville)get the HD...otherwise the Victory is bottom line the better motorcycle...and HD better get their game in gear or they will get left in the dust. Don't get me wrong, I adore HD bikes(except v-rods..echh). I just wish they'd "get the with the program" and make some improvements that will insure their survival...like, increase rear suspenion travel for instance, two inches isn't enough!...It's not rocket science people!

I do love my Harley Ultra but you have to admit that Victory makes some really solid bikes. Competition is a good thing, hopefully it will get those Harley heads working a little harder to improve their product.

Besides Victory, there are BMW, Yamaha, Kawasaki and other baggers which have better stats than H-D. But all of them are not Harley's. And that's the point. They are just good, if not better, bikes. But they do not open up the membership into the Harley Owners Group.

...if not the motorcyclist's riders club Louis. I'll bet there lots of people like me that love motorcycles in all forms. Old-New-Sport-Classic-Cruisers -Rods-Rats-dirtbikes...and even standard bikes! Heck,...I still get a kick outta' riding a mini-bike or a scooter once inna' while...it's all good. It's just in this case we are just giving our comments to compare these two bike in particular, but your point is well taken!

Some people like retro while others prefer performance. Just depends what you want out of your scoot. As for the the whole "brotherhood" or "membership" by purchase thing goes though personaly I don't think I want to hang with people that only want to associate with me buy what brand I buy. I left the whole petty clique mentality behind in Jr. Highschool.

when the snowmobile company decides to pull the plug on victory, you will still be able to get a Harley. these things are an ugly POS.

Can't really argue with you on that one. I did however take a ride up to dealer and saw one up close. Somehow, it's not quite as ugly up close as it is in pictures. It had some nice features. I don't really see it as competition for an FLHTC / FLHTCU though. It's just different. The dealer did offer it up for a test ride though. I didn't take him up on his offer as I made it clear that I was just looking. Maybe another day. I'm hoping to make my next bike a RoadGlide myself.

I dont like the looks of the Victory Vision but I like the 2010 Victory cross country an the Victory cross roads. I have had many bikes, both American and the others. I see Harley standing still in the same rut that has killed many company's.Check the amount of parts on a Harley made over seas vs. Victory,an it seems like what Victory does outsource is top quality stuff like Brembo breaks (Italian)My 2001 Roadking had (Showa)shocks made in Japan?????????

You REALLY must test ride both to be absolutely sure you are getting the right bike FOR YOU...otherwise several thousands of dollars later, you'll always be wondering if you made the right choice. Hell, I just test rode both at an annual motorcycle show out here in Long Beach, CA ... along with many other brands of bikes, it was a blast of an experience! Don't deny your innner biker!... test ride everything and anything you think might "complete you"....GO, just do it! You'll be glad you did!

I cancelled my 2010 roadglide order and put a deposit on the new cross country. I just sat on it and felt more comfortable. Sure it's specs match or beat most numbers but its more the soul of the bike itself, not the name on the tank.

it don't matter what you ride, just ride. i've had BMWs, BSAs and Harleys. I've loved all of them, some more than others.

Who gives a rat's ass?
When are you children going to stop this pissing contest? It's like arguing over which fruit is better? They're all fruit; they're all motorcycles. Buy what you can afford, ride what you like. Sheeesh! Move on.
