I now own a BMW K1300S this is the perfect bike for sport touring for those of us that ride sport bikes aggressively.I can't wait to bike this bike into the mountains. So far it has peformed awsome in the twisties at high speeds.

After 2 Ducati Super bikes I choose a BMW K1300S after demo riding it! It is an absolute GEM of a sport bike as well as sport tourer. The bike is smooth as butter with absolutely huge torque and acceleration. The most unexpected thing I found however, is how well this bike handles. On a track, side to sides would no doubt be more work than a normal sport bike, but on the street you would be amazed at how solid and sharp this bike is.
The BMW front suspension, and quick shift make 2 up riding an absolute pleasure as the front end dive is kept to a minimum and smooth up-shift can be achieved at any RPM, by a slight tap of the shifter while continuing to open the throttle. ABS works great! During my test ride test I pushed it big time and braked incredibly hard, and the bike was so controlled I was amazed. The acceleration, lack of front end dive, and amazingly controlled braking had me sold in less than a minute. The bike is very comfortable for rider and passenger as well. I actually can't think of anything negative about this bike. I am getting 40-42 mpg, on average, and the on board computer is very accurate for both range and mpg. I haven't reset the mpg trip in a while, so the 40 - 42 is a good average, but I haven't pushed it all that much over that period.

Does it backfire on closed throttle on engine braking?
