This isn’t the kind of story that immediately strikes one as touching, but when you hear Kenny Gallo, aka. Kenji, speak about his road to redemption, you have to admit it is. Apparently a good woman can do anything (Nope, he’s not gay himself). Even turn a “car-bombing drug smuggler and mafioso into a committed father, law-abiding white-collar professional, and a gay rights activist.”...Once I thought about it this way, the answer was obvious: LGBT Americans. No one suffers more, and no one’s suffering is more condoned.

That's great. It reminds me of an interview I saw with a lesian rap artist who got shit for being gay - telling her that what she's doing is not actually 'rap' because of what she's rapping about. She said in response that rap is supposed to be daring and exposing injustice in society. It takes a lot more guts to rap in support of gay rights than it does to gaybash - it's almost becoming as expected to hear 'faggot' in rap songs now as the n-word unfortunately is.

Congrats to this guy. I really think it takes a lot for a straight man in that environment to be the bigger man about gay issues.

I forget if you're one of the talibangelical, closet case bigots or not, so I will merely say that being g/l/b/t in this society is much worse before coming than after.

Although I agree anything can be taken too far out of balance, including a str8 sexual identity or a buybull worshipper identity, etc.
