Mirko Cro Cop: Alistair Overeem lost because he 'fought without the drugs'

There are 5 comments on the BloodyElbow story from Feb 4, 2013, titled Mirko Cro Cop: Alistair Overeem lost because he 'fought without the drugs'. In it, BloodyElbow reports that:

Mirko Cro Cop believes that Alistair Overeem got knocked out by Antonio Silva at UFC 156 because he 'fought without the drugs' he had been using for years, and he was so arrogant that he needed to be 'put in his place'. Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic has fought pretty much everywhere that Alistair Overeem has - Pride, K-1 , Dream, and the UFC.

I dont think its because of no drugs thts not a factor what it was is that reem dominated the first two rounds and got cocky and paid the price u never drop ur hands no matter who ur up against i think if he pulls his head in and respects the abilities of his opponents no one will stop him

To my opinion he`s still one of the best.
But I think with all the mediastress and his overconfidince in that last fight against Big Foot Silva he kind of gave away the match.
Aldo I agreet that when he`s focust and let every negative ting go what people think an say about him, he will be the one that is unstoppable

"THE REEM" is the most massive heavyweight out there. He is still at times making the mistake of knowing that and being over confident thus at times leaving himself open.

Anyone who has patience and waits thru a couple of Alistair's initial flurries and waits for an opening will find him being overconfident and then it's lights out. The same thing happened to TYSON.

Once "THE REEM" stops coming out like charging bull and then waits and figures out his opponent, chooses his shots and skills wisely instead of muscling tactics he will be unbeatable, if he can get around his own head.

It has nothing to do will drugs because Overeem has plenty of strength as he is. I think his decision to do drugs shows how hungry he is, and again how much he relies on muscling tactics which he needs to give up.

The way he demolished Brock Lesnar who also fights like a charging bull shows just how much power Overeem really has. Lesnar was on his way to being an feared MMA legend till he crossed paths with "The Reem."

I can say from looks of the Reem a few years ago to the looks of him 6 months after signing with UFC, the REEM looks way way smaller muscular wise.

And wouldn't that suggest that the UFC has tighter anti doping rules? At least that's a good thing.

Yes very true but when the the REEM destroyed Lsnar he was still rather new to the UFC and thus rather close to his last cycle of PEDS the UFC would catch. When he fought LEsnar they watnch two huge guys to. That way part of the marketing of that fight, and the REEM was loosing muscle already if the fight was another tyear later in the UFC REEM wouild have been off those PEDS that K1 and Strikefore turned a blind eye too and gave him time to cycle off for testing.
