If the Cubs power numbers were where we all thought they would be at the beginning of the season, this division would already be decided. I'm mystified by the lack of home run production - especially with men on base. I still agree that the Cubs have the best chance to win the division title. Go Cubs!

You are obviously wearing the "Cubbie Blue Glasses" again. This is why you will never be considered as a nationally relevant or knowledgeable sports writer. This is a team that has NEVER won a big game, never sniffed the playoffs in its current form, never had to win down the stretch with pressure much less been in a position to do so, yet you've already ordained them NL Central champs. They have allowed the Cardinals back in the race,(who have been in those situations described above-this is where we check for rings...), and have shown no ability to win the games they should be winning(check last 2 1/2 weeks worth of schedule)if they were the team you think they are. Let see if they can get it done over the next 40, or it will be the 100th anniversary party of Cub losing next year.

Yet more proof that Cubs fans (and Cubs fans dressed up as sports writers) are completely and utterly delusional.

One thing you can count on the Cubs doing at season's end: failing.

Yep They are the exact opposite of what the A's are in the AL They get hot in august The Cubs seem to get nervous when they get close to the end with the lead and they crash and burn BEWARE OF THE GOAT!!!!!!

Hey when the Cards can actually beat the cubs in a season series...then I might respect them but the cardinals fail and fail to handle the cubs...even with Alfonso on the DL.

brewer fans are by far the most dedicated..and i'm not so sure why all of the cubs fans are so confident they are going to win the series. The brewers have been the lead for the majority of the year (haha including RIGHT NOW) and that's the way it's going to end. Cubs suck.

Tom could you be alittle more biased. The Brew Crew is falling. If the cubs dont get them, the Cards will. Ahhhhhh the Diamondbacks just beat the Brew Crew. SOrry ;)

Bradley, wake up and smell the failure. The Cubs have cooled off and are not some "formidable force" anymore. The Brewers are starting to swing better, pitch better, AND Ben Sheets is coming back. Milwaukee just won a road series against one of the best teams in the NL. Sorry, but the Cubs aren't in this race.

First and foremost. I never said that the cubs are or ever were a "formidable force." You shouldnt put words in peoples mouths.

If I am worried about anybody its going to be the Cardinals. They actually have proven themselves not the Brew Crew. Nice Try. I mean Ben Sheets is a beast, let me tell you. He makes a world of a difference. Maybe Fielder can bump another umpire with that fat chest of his.
