“Why wasn't he called up in September?”

The Cards may shop Scott Rolen around, but they won't take just any deal for him. via Major League Baseball

Isn't the player he used to be??? Let's look at the past few years... We will just talk about his batting stats since his defensive ability is obvious, and people only seem to bitch about his offense. In 2006 (post shoulder problems), he finished with a slugging % of .518, a batting average of .296, nearly 100 RBIs, 22 homeruns, AND he was, in my opinion, the MVP of the 2006 world series with a batting average over .400 and a slugging % of nearly .750. In 2003 (pre shoulder problems), he finished the season with a .286 batting average, a .528 slugging percentage, 104 RBIs, and 28 homeruns. Hmmm... 2003 stats are virtually identical to 2006 stats, but he was worth the money then and not now?? If he performed the same in 2003 (pre surgery) and 2006 (post surgery), then why is everyone bitching about him?? Just because he had a bad season in 2007??? So did every other Cardinal. He does not suck! Fair weather fans like you suck!
