I would just like to take this opportunity to say as a lifelong Yankee fan that this Post Season showing has been the most pathetic thing I have witnessed from the team and all of them (except Jeter) should be ashamed. I will never understand how some of the best players in the game can just choke the way they have. The rest of us can't just go to work when the pressure is highest and performance is needed the most and just go "oh well, sorry - I had a bad week." We'd be at the unemployment line.
I will say that I am a realistic Yankee fan and I think all that "World Series win every year or bust" crap is a joke. My problem is not that they are losing and about to be swept - it's the way they are doing it. No urgency and such a "whatever" attitude. I hate to say it but Kevin Long needs to go, and Cashman should be right behind him. Cashman gives away Montero to get a bunch of hurt pitchers we never saw and to top it off he gives away Austin Jackson and Phil Coke to the Tigers - both of whom are playing great AGAINST the Yankees - for Curtis "Strikeout or Homerun" Granderson who is so bad he is seeing as much action as me tonight.
Then there's A-Rod. I have been one of the few people to like and root for this guy. I thought it was admirable when he admitted to using steroids since no one else will and I thought there was no chance he would not break the homerun record and now he's lost at the plate. I think it has nothing to do with age because he's in great shape, and the injury he had this year was not related to fatigue or age - it's all mental to him. He goes to the plate looking like he KNOWS he is going to strike out. As much as I have rooted for the guy I think he needs to go - I just don't see who would pick up that salary and I don't want to see the Yankees pay him to play for another team.
The only other thing I can say is that if anything proves the Baltimore Orioles were overrated and one of the biggest playoff flukes of all time it's that this Yankee team beat them.

Your team of over-paid prima donas gets embarrasingly swept so you try to spin it by attacking another team that hasn't seen the post season in 15 years. Typical new york a-hole.

Just calling it like I see it....and by the way I was at Camden Yards for the game where Tx was called out to end the game when he was actually safe by about 2 feet and it really showed that those fans had not had a playoff team in so long. Both games we went to we were SURROUNDED by obnoxios loud mouthed "A-HOLES" as you would put it who showed no class at all. They don't deserve another playoff team I can you that especially since they don't bother to show up when the team is losing and they have a beautiful park with easy access from the light rail and great prices. My wife and I sat field level on the third baseline for about $85 per ticket. That place should always be full - last place or not.
