The Red Sox's have beaten the Yankees, 10 out of 12 meetings thus far this year. Just look at the standings, even. What does that tell you? A few years back we lost 9 in a row and came back to win the season series and the division tittle. The Yankees rotation will hold up and the bullpen is the best in the league. If the Yankees do the right thing, put the head case, A.J. Burnett in the pen, we will win. Both have killer, comeback, in your face offences...the Yankee pitching is the difference. The Yankees have the edge.
P.S. Jorge should retire.

Yankee fan is corret but this year is different. The Red Sox historically have strong firt halfs then fade back after the All Star break. So far this isn't the case. Both will be in the play offs. Division is nice but unless you win it all it really doesn't matter. How do the teams look foe post season, that is the question. Right now it's the Sox with the edge. The powerhouse that looks unstoppable are the Phillies. If we make it that far ... do we have the pitching to match up in what should be low scoring games.

Agree - AJ Burnett is a head case. The problem is not with his mechanics. It's the loss/lack of confidence in his head.
And though I love Jorge - part of that core four - it is time for him to retire. And they can't keep going to Mariano for every save, though he's one of ( if not THE ) best closers in the game, he too is getting up there in age.

PS If the Red Sox win ( ANYTHING ), one of the TV sets will get smashed. AHaHaaHaaaa ... No joke !!!

I hope you're right about that edge ...

GGGGeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzz ... every year it's the same thing. Sox are gonna wing - sox are gonna win...

Fact is, Sox are one of the losingest teams in MLB history. 2 WS wins in the last 100 years is all the proof you need.

Papelbon deeply misses having Manny Ramirez as a teammate.
