If Burnett is truly team-first player then he sits

We all know that AJ stays in the rotation due to his contract. A solid young starter will go to the bullpen but it won't be Ivan Nova. Phil Hughes gets the bullpen assignment this time. The spin will be that Hughes has been successful in the bullpen before.

I don't think you send a pitcher coming off
arm problems, liken Hughes, to the on and off routine of a reliever. Defeats the whole purpose of building his arm strength over two monts

Burnett can't be trusted. Give him a decent lead and he finds a way to self destruct. Refuses to be anything but a 2 pitch thrower ...... not a pitcher.
Demote him to the bullpen and have him punch a wall like Kevin Brown did.

I've been to two home games in 3 years. Unfortunately both times AJ pitched. Same pattern both times kights out 1 innings hit hard for 1, lights out rest of game while team tries to come back (they lost both). If Steinbrenner was alive there would be no discussion.
