Free Agency, or Farm System?
The Yankees have, yet again, demonstrated the unpredictability of free agency. After managing to overachieve last year to finish an unremarkable 85-77 the Yanks faced an ultimatum.

Of course it's both. The Yankees and their chief culprit Brian Cashman have spent over 800 million since 09.
Their farm system has not produced , their drafts are suspect, their development process is suspect and arguably Cashman has made one good trade since assuming total control of baseball operations after the 2005 season, acquiring Swisher!
No MLB ready prospect at any level positionally and only marginal pitching prospects, yet he retains his job as do most of those in Tampa.
As we speak the Sox have won 3 WS, the SF Giants and Cards 2 (?) in the last decade.
Fire Cashman, clean house in Tampa, case closed!
