Alex Rodriguez will have arthroscopic hip surgery on Monday and is expected to miss six to nine weeks.

THIS IS NOT A MEDICAL ISSUE. This is a suspension meted out by MLB after meeting a week or two ago, shrouded in a medical condition. MLB wants to publically slap him on the wrist, but still get the point across by handing out a suspension.

A suspension with pay? At his salary, he'll make more in those 6-9 weeks for doing nothing than most people will see in a life time of working.

Don't know about the "history of MLB" but last year the Red Sox Mike Lowell went down with same injury.Who know's if it is steroid related, never heard Lowells name come up in steroid talk, so my guess its just a freak injury poorly timed for Arod.
I don't buy the Selig from the grassy knoll theory either.

don't know what's going on with A-Roid, whether its torn hip labrum, steroid use, covert suspension, std from Madonna, or because of all of the recent attention, he has a serious case of stage fright. all i know is this seriously screws up the 1st round for millions of fantasy baseball owners, especially retention leagues. lovin it. also hopefuuly Yankees will fall to 4th or maybe even 5th. Baltimore is improving.

There is now this story about a HGH doctor in South Florida who is buddy-buddy w/ A-Bum!!!! In the words of Nelson Muntz: HAW HAW!!!
