Yes, that's WHY they're breaking records. But you missed the point. A Yankee player breaking a Yankee team record is big news in the eyes of ESPN, Fox, CBS, CNN, etc. No other club gets that coverage. Why? because they're not the Yankees. There was a media swarm around Jeter breaking Gehrig's hit record. The news coverage was bigger than Beuhrle's perfect game. How much coverage was there for Ichiro's 9th straight 200th hit season (a MLB record). Plenty of other clubs had club records broken... But the news coverage just wasn't there, because they're not the Yankees.(I'll agree it's not fair/just... but that doesn't change the fact that it happens)

SB trophy? I'm assuming WS trophy, or I just don't recognize the initials. I'll grant you that NY fans are restless. That happens every year NY doesn't win a WS. The fans are certainly spoiled after 26 WS Victories... But, if it's only big news to Yankee fans, why was the news a headline story coast to coast instead of just local news? |

Hmmm... I thought ESPN was nationwide. I'm in the Twin Cities, MN and it was everywhere. Local news picked it up, and ESPN led with it.
