why can't joe nathan play short stop....he played there in the minor leagues.
Too many hitters would reach first because he would have to do that annoying exhale lip thing after fielding a routine grounder.

He should find a place other than Target Field to put that Metrodome mound dirt too. I for one wouldn't miss him a bit.

Sliding into first!!!!!Why
Would LOVE to get rid of Punto and Cuddyer...problem is, no one else wants them, we'd get nothing for them. Come to think of it, that would be okay, too.

I will take this deal, it seems like it has potential, but I still do not understand why so many fans are so hard on Delmon Young. He is still young and had a great finish to the end of the season last year.
that was a great finish ??.... hitting .083 in the playoffs , striking out all the time , swinging at bad pitches and leaving runners on all over the place .... besides being one of the worst outfielders (defensively) in baseball .... ok , i will really take what you have to post seriously

Great player who showed a flashes of great baseball. But then he would really do something stupid. We needed a good shortstop anyways. GO TWINS!

Delmon is going to keep improving. Did you all notice how much better he looked at the plate once he spread out his feet in the batter box. He's much more balanced with alot more power. I'm looking forward to his progress next year. By the way, nice trade Bill Smith!!!
yeah , old Delmon just tore up the Yankee staff with the spread foot stance you are chirping about .... or did he un-spread them for that series or is it you don't know what you are talking about

I still can not figure out why Punto is on a major league roster. I think he must have pictures of Billy Smith with farm animals!

The twins got the best of this deal. Hardy is a wonderful young man and is an excellent baseball player. You will love the way he plays shortstop. He will hit again plus he is excellent in the club house. Nice trade twins....sounds like a disaster awaits the brew crew.

He was too fast for his own good. It's too bad he couldn't learn from his mistakes.
maybe Milwaukee will have him play in the minors ....where a young in-experienced player should have been all along ... not on a major league roster like the Twins tried to do .... if the Twins would have let him season in the minors for a year or two he would be ready now .... but NOPE .... Gomez's speed is game changing so we'll see how Milwaukee handles him because his situation was completely MIS-handled by the Twinkies brass

What a stupid headline. TP come down off your high horse,

Gomez had no business being the the majors, and the Twins did him a disservice by not playing him everyday in a developmental situation AKA the minor leagues where he belonged.

Instead Twins brass were forced to pimp him out at the big league level to try and cover their rears for the pathetic Johan Santana fleecing they took.

Boy wouldn't that Matt Kemp and Clayton Kershaw thing the Dodgers inititally offered have been a better fit? But the Twins brass held out and overplayed their hand until we got what we got....

Good luck to Go-Go he was a nice kid in over his head. I'm looking forward to watching Hardy. Good deal for us, but there no need to punk the guy on his way out of town TP.

This is bull, JJ hardy is just a pretty boy. Gomez brought energy and spunk to the twins. Everyone in mn was a fan of him. Now we get some bum from our interleague rivals????

The trade of Gomez for Hardy may have caught a lot of people by surprise. On paper, Hardy seems like so much the better deal. One has to wonder whether there's something that hasn't gotten out about Hardy. The numbers don't look good for Hardy stealing any bases, but maybe he'll be paying attention when he does get on base. A couple seasons of over twenty homers gives the impression that the Twins are thinking more power than speed at this stage. It will be interesting to see how third base plays out.

It looks fairly certain that Cuddyer is a Twin for a couple more years--he had a great season for the Twins and really did the job when Morneau was out. Kubel will definitely play a lot of games in left field. Gardenhire saw the advantages of having the DH spot available for Morneau and Mauer while still keeping Kubel in the line-up. If the Twins could only secure an ace for the starting rotation, the Twins might make the play-offs again and perhaps take it another level.

They believe everything the B.Smith and the front office says.

How about signing someone like Petitite or Lackey. Now that would actually be worth waking up for.

Anyone who watches baseball consistently knows that D. Young is one of the worst outfielders in baseball. He is nothing more than a streaky hitter at best. However, the Twins will make us believe that he is full of potential because of his cheap price tag.

I'm a Twins fan and I certainly DO NOT believe everything the front office says - particularly Smith. J. Pohlad is not a baseball guy and with his mits on the old man's money scares me - and I agree with you on the fiasco that is Delmon.

Daily Horoscope for March 21

Cancer

The day may start off with a bang as friends and associates continue to call, but by evening you're ready to spend some time alone. The changing Moon enters your twelfth house of secrets and solitude this evening, urging you to spend a quiet night recharging your spiritual batteries. If you must attend a social function, you may find it is easier to listen to others than to say much yourself.
