Mets squeak one by Milwaukee, 1-0

Full story: Newsday

His team in a tailspin, and Brewers ' ace Yovani Gallardo primed to complete a sweep at Miller Park, Jerry Manuel 's sense of timing seemed to be a little off in calling for a postgame meeting late Tuesday night.

The toughest game to win is a 1-nil contest. What a performance by both starters. Pelfrey 7+ innings 2 BB's & 6 K's & 6 hits allowed. Gallardo is the real thing. He's an ace for sure with a creer high 12 K's, but unfortunately a hard luck loser. I remember him pitching against Johan at Citifield. great duel as well with Johan outpitching him. Give me a 1-0 duel than a 9-8 slugfest anytime. Pitching & defense wins. Now the losing streak is over it's off to Pittsburgh for a makeup game tomorrow then the hated Phillies over the weekend. Let's live it up until tomorrow & get back to 500 before Philly. Lets GO METS!!!!

Hey Todd, how are ya? I bet you're feeling a little better after Pelf's gem today! I'll take a 1-0 game on occasion but I really enjoy a lot of offense in a game! Enjoy your evening!

Whew! Thank god Pelfrey brought his "A" game. Thrilled we won but when Church batted in Castillo - I realized why I felt so suprised - a timely hit. That is what has been killing us - stringing some hits together. Lately, once the game is out of reach - someone will homer or smack a double - but we leave so many runners stranded. June hurt bad. That was some bad baseball, Mr. Met. Please make sure July goes better. GO METS!

Whoa, you're right! I was trying to figure out what I had seen, but couldn't place it. A timely hit. Yes indeed.

Kudos to Pelf too, for shrugging off the balk which is the kind of play that usually makes him unravel.
