That was a pretty entertaining game to watch. Roy-O in the outfield, making a putout against his former club?!?! Tonight's game may be fun to watch also, maybe everyone will be not-so-sharp and let some more craziness happen. I don't know, with Halladay on the mound, the Phils may not even need position players.

One of the more entertaining games I've seen in awhile! I only wish Ry Ho would of beat the sh!!t outta' that 3rd base ump. Baiting Howard like he did, he had it coming! Tough one Phightins!!

All the trades batting coach fired, Howard big time slump. I have noticed for long time when negative situations develop Charlie just sits there
and chews his gum and just tries to wait it out since he is a players manager. Countless games have been lost because of this. Howard should have been benched during his slump 0 for 24
and given extra batting practice and a long talk.
Charlie should be relieved of his job. The players dont have the respect towards him because they know he is so complacent. Charlie will be gone if Phils dont get into world series

Yea, the ejection was a touchy one, but to be perfectly honest, Ryan was lucky he didn't get tossed on the first check swing called strike. It's wild when you see the more mild-mannered players lose it like that. Being from Houston, I remember seeing Craig Biggio do the same thing a while back - it's like "Holy crap, that was Bidge going off like that?!?!" It doesn't help that Howard's been struggling and certainly getting frustrated with himself. He'll come around, though - hopefully in time for the home stretch of the pennant race.

Regarding the check swing calls, Ryan Howard has a swing that, IMO, is near impossible to hold up. His hips fly open and his arms/hands/bat follow, instead of everything firing at nearly the same time. It's hard to stop all of that momentum. Even if you do stop in time (which I'd have to say he did appear to go around), it's a hard sell to the ump since he's basically already turned his whole body around.

As a transplanted fan, I'll continue to root for the Phils (they're a classy ball club - so much more so than the likes of the yankees and mets)... but the 'Stros will always be my #1 team. Maybe one of these years, we'll have a Houston-Philly NLCS. That would be awesome.
