Twins top Royals, pull within half-game of Detroit Tigers

Cuddyer has been absolutely crucial to the Twins success this season. As it is with baseball that's not the whole story. Blackburn seems to really pitch well when the pressure is on and Mauer's at bat was epic. Punto was the piranha that Ozzie admires/hates.

Great win Twins. Blackburn rocks. Delmon does it again and the never say die team has a good chance to make the playoffs. I was at the dome last nite and it was awesome. It was nice to watch the game today on Fox with two good announcers backed by a jacked up crowd. The Twins fans are the best. Hope we have about 8 more games at the dome this year...

Delmon Young has driven in eight runs in the last two games. Without Young, the Twins wouldn't be in first place.

Nick Punto saved the game today with a spectacular play in the eighth inning. He also started the four-run rally against Greinke in the sixth.

To all the posters who have criticized Young and Punto all season long: Instead of embarrassing yourselves any further, give them the credit they deserve. They have both played a big part in the Twins' recent surge into first place.

Punto is under-rated and under-appreciated! His defense is spectacular and is getting on base much better recently.
