I always liked Mark. Now if Alex will hit how he is supposed to and Anderson or Guillen will start to hit and field in the outfield... A lot of if's with the Royals. Nothing new.

Please don't sell off Grienke. What are the owners thinking? We get a good player and they sell them to someone else. Do you guys deliberately want Royals to continue to be the losing team?

yes, because the owner is still making a ton of money and getting luxury tax money as well.

I am completely saddened by this! How can you let Mark go?? Especially without him even knowing anything about it! That's just wrong! He seemed to really love KC and what about the Mark Teahen Show?:( This sucks. Why can't we have a good team with good players?

The Royals will continue to be a horrible team. BOTTOM LINE...Grienke will end up on a team like the Red Sox, Cubs, or Dodgers. That kid SHOULD leave now if he knows whats good for him!

I am shocked. I keep thinking the Royals are trying to build a solid, winning team and it looked like they were moving in the right direction, but how can they get the team back to a winning level when they trade foundation players who are solid leaders?? What are they thinking?

Why is this a shock to you? Does Johnny Damon, Jermaine Dye, Carlos Beltran and Raul Ibanez ring a bell? The Royals can't and won't keep any good player that comes their way. That's why I'm saying Grienke is on his way out...Why would the BEST pitcher in MLB stay with a worthless team?! I'm happy for Mark Teahen. I hope the thrives with the Sox!!!

Why don't you calm down and quit attacking people for putting their comments on this board. This is not a debate, it is simply a way to express your feelings about the story at hand.

Typical Royals fan getting butt hurt. Go jump on the Royals fan bandwagon! Face it people, there WON'T be another '85 Royals! Not in my lifetime at least...

Oh, and thanks for attacking me. Way to call the kettle black.

I agree with everyone else the Royals seem to trade or get rid of the great players that we get oon the team. My three old team really liked going and watching the games and getting to know who played on the team. I have a nephew that plays competitve baseball and has to have the same number has Mark Tehan. He will really upset to find out that they traded him to the White Sox. I guess the Royals like to be called the loosers and enjoy not making it to the World Series.

if MLB had any kind of brains, they'd model their business structure much like the NFL where there is a salary cap and a Salary minimum where you must fall between. In this way, it is very possible that any and all teams have a shot at the top spot. These owners bitch about spirling payroll costs, then, let the Steinbrenners and Yawkeys pay stupid sums of $$ on long term contracts, then, in some cases, allow them to spend more stupid money on the chance just to bid on foreign players. Dumb!! Makes no sense to have a team where the payroll is $200M and another where it barely tops $50M. Of course the $200M team will usually get to the playoffs, win and sign better players the following winter.

You will see sold out stadiums in some cities and nearly empty ones in the others. It's not a level playing field and the luxury tax doesn't help when there isn't a required minimum payroll as well. Small owners take the cash and dash and don't do anything along the lines of using it to sign better players.

That idot selig is just that, an idiot.

Second verse, same as the first....

They have been shopping Teahan for some time, I am sorry to see him go. He is such a versatile player and can run the bases like Willie Wilson used too.
Good Luck in Chicago.

Oh well! Another barely average player gone. Please figure out a way to package Buck with him. They came together let them leave together.

Teahen isn't very good and costs 5 million. He is probably as good as Getz is now and much older so Getz will pass him. I know Fields failed in Chicago but he might pan out.
This is a solid trade
