Chicago Cubs Have Lesbian Owner

Friday, The family of billionaire Joe Ricketts, the founder of Omaha, Neb.-based TD Ameritrade, paid $845 million to buy a 95 percent controlling interest in the Chicago Cubs, their ballpark, Wrigley Field, and 25 percent of Comcast Sportsnet…. And with that purchase, The Windy City Times is reporting that the Chicago Cubs, possibly Major League Baseballs unluckiest team, will be the first team with an openly gay owner, because among the purchasers is Laura Ricketts, an open lesbian.

and that matters how? people look for any reason to bring up a persons sexuality. so she is lesbian. i do not see how that matters to how she will run the Cubs.

It matters because of the extreme homophobia that exists in all professional sports in America. There isn't a single openly gay player in all of MLB, the NFL, NHL, or NBA.

Lesbian or not, I hope they will dish out the money for more decent players - something the stingy old Tribune company did not want to do for years. I also hope they are sensitive to the neighbourhood (which for those unfamiliar with Chicago is quite close to Boystown) in any future update plans for Wrigley.

It is not how much you spend, IT IS HOW YOU SPEND IT????? Not on old washed-up players or trouble makers, it is spent on players who have the DESIRE to be WINNERS!!!!!!!!!!
