I vote for " year round" . Maybe being in school will keep you out of trouble.

Might as well ban all language. Just go back to grunts and squeals. Somebody somewhere is going to be offended no matter what anyone says, so I guess it's time to just hang it up.

Oook, ook, grmp, grok, kak-kak.

I totally agree. School all year round and longer school days will just promote burnout among the students, and actually make things worse.

Life would be a lot easier if everyone in the world spoke one single language. Same with currency, and numbers, and practically everything else. But life doesn't work like that. You have a first language, so you have to respect that some people have a different first language than you do. Just saying, only one in twenty people speak English as their first language and only one in four people can have a decent conversation in English. So, you must respect the rest of the people who can't.

Any human language IS just grunts and squeals, when you think about it.

Many schools no longer have a recess period for children in which they can go outside, run around, play games, act goofy, socialize, make friends, and just be a youngster. Tragically, many children these days can't play outside in their own neighborhoods when they're out of school because of stranger danger - pedophiles driving around in cars looking for a child to lure into their vehicles so that they can then take them to a secluded place and rape, torture, and kill them. And what's on television isn't healthy for children (or adults either for that matter). Children have had their time of innocence taken away from them by the growing surge of evil in our world. So, if we can still give them summers off from school, let's at least do that much for them. We adults have really failed our children in today's world. Our world is a miserable mess.

Yep. The article writer is retarded.

Words have meaning.

How you speak or write those words determines your thoughts.

Ugly thoughts disguised with "correct" words or phrases is still ugly.

I agree with several posts here. I think a tone a voice makes a difference when it comes to misunderstandings. I find it rather amusing how easily folks can be offended when it was just another persons attempt at being humourous.

I think the schools should consider teaching more of what our children need to survive in this world. There are subjects that don't need to be given such efforts while ignoring those subjects that could really benefit the children in everyday living.

It's also a shame that with the way the computerized world has taken over that many children can't count money or spell any more.

As for using other languages in different countries ... I'm not in favor of changing our National Anthem or any other thing to appease those that don't wish to be the one in twenty speaking proper English.

Nice. You used an appropriate apostrophe!

You've exceeded all my expectations on an internet post!

Let the main event's post be an example that public schooling of special snowflakes can yield results with just the tiniest bit of clay to mold.

Words do have power. If you give them that power.

It's exploited frequently. With politicians, advertisers or the "friend" who only lives to put others down.
