Eh, Bonds will want all kinds of perks - a private icebox for his syringes, etc. and a separate mailbox for his subpoenas. He'd probably want incentives per indictment, too. And why would you put anyone old enough to have osteoporosis in the outfield where he might crash into a wall? Hell, if you want a codger for the outfield, let's go all out and get Al Kaline. At least he could accurately throw to the plate on a hop.

Bad game last night. The whole team looked stiff, flat and bamboozled. Yeah, this swinging for the seats at every pitch is not going to cut it when crunch time comes. Even Hanley...what is he batting, 20 or 30 points below his usual BA?...let's get on base too, eh, kiddo?

Tourists watching the surface of Loch Ness through their binoculars from Urquhart Castle reported a swimming object that resembled Alejandro DeAza....

Mike Jacobs should be good trade bait....he's not hitting at all anymore Can-do is great at lst...Helms ok at 3rd...
I still think Paul La Doca could REALLY help down the stretch...not Pudge.

Marlins have no incentive because they are owned by a Communist wealthy welfare queen. Why don't u people send him some money, I am sure his yacht needs gas.

Dear Foxsrus, Jacobs DID have high up end trade value last year, but now according to everything I've read the bottom has fallen out as far as worth. Most publications are saying he NOW would be lucky to fetch a mid range prospect. Scouts don't like his swing, his knowledge--ROTFLMAO--of the strike zone, everyone realizes he is actually a DH playing 1B, he's injury prone---BESIDES that he is really good--Oh, and he is a base paths clogger--When he's on.

The TRUTH must soon come out about Willingham. He is no longer driving the ball and ACTUALLY appears to be up there trying to coax a walk. Watch how many FIRST pitch fastballs he takes--The entire league is aware of tendency, BUT these guys just don't adjust. What the Hell is the hitting coach for?? He might even suggest to Hanley that he has moved so far off the plate he can't see the outside corner---Is this brain surgery??

Hey Lou...I wonder about the coaching on this team also...seems a bit narrowly focused. The Marlins are gonna see a lot more junk pitchers unless they adjust. I've seen a hit and run play on rare occaisions..other than that, except for Wiley, I don't see any intelligent design.

By the way, I'm again SHOCKED that Allan B is no where to be found. But I'm sure we will hear from her tomorrow after they win tonight since they win every other night and are not capable of putting together a string of more than three in a row.

True enough..after they win a crucial series, they let down and toss a game to a team they should beat.

Dear Question, Do we sound like we are down on them or just aren't supporter sniffers who see everything as GREAT, BUT INSTEAD would like to see them win this thing--If not this year in the near future. And you WILL NOT win with NO corner outfielders with range, an over achieving right fielder playing CF, a DH playing 1B, a 1B playing 3rd, arguably the 2B with the worst range in baseball, a SUPER STAR BASEBALL player who has outgrown SS and should be at 3rd(those league leading number of errors are not an accident) AND as you all know, NOT a catcher of Major League caliber on the 40 man roster.

It's been a miracle and I love it, but the thing about miracles is they don't tend to appear too often.

I just realized I named 8 of the 9 positions on defense--left out the pitchers--Believe it is now obvious why they are the worst fielding team in baseball both by fielding percentage and in things that even Stevie Wonder would notice.

Everyone here gets worse on defense. There is no one that I can recall that has become a better fielder and they all become better long ball hitters. Not sure if it is a chicken egg thing or what. Maybe when Pudge was here there was an emphasis to play defense with cojones by example and try to do it but even the GREAT Junior Felix was never able to make the same plays that he made in Toronto...

There has been just so many bad defensive players in that Marlin field over the years... OY VEY.........

Must be the black beans they put in the clubhouse.

It's 5:30 am after the Marlins won on a combined one hitter from starter Vandenhurk and 4 relievers against the Braves at Dolphin Stadium and still no mention in The Sun-Sentinel website. You guys are falling asleep at the wheel. Well anyway they won on a 3 run homer by Mike Jacobs (20) in the fourth inning and the Marlins cruised to a 4-0 win and are now tied with the Mets one game back of the Phillies courtesy of a 6 run ninth for the visitors at Shea for an 8-6 Phillies win.

I mostly agree, but I have to point out that despite Uggla's three error All Star game, he HAS improved on defense. His range and his fielding are both better than before. I have seen him actually make PLAYS out there that before would not have happened.
