Miguel Cabrera hit two prodigious homers and Omir Santos' sacrifice fly in the ninth inning gave the Detroit Tigers a wild 4-3 victory over the New York Yankees on Saturday night.

It's just one game in a sub-par season. They can't even see .500 any more. They will be struggling to keep out of the basement. All that payroll. All those stars on paper. They simply can't gell and put it together. I like Leyland and especially the technical aspects he brings out in his pregame show. However, Lack of chemistry and putting it together is a manager's job. Leyland has failed in this regard. Now he's blaming it on chance and injuries while at the same time saying you can't blame anything on those things. He's doing the Lion's jig, if I am allowed to say that.

Might be just as much the Yankee pitching problem than a Detroit victory. If the yanks can ever get there starters in sink they will be a bigger force to recon with
