The only reason someone runs from the cops is that fact they are guilty of something..That should be enough cause to chase them..Bad idea MPD, bad idea...

This will increase the crime in Milwaukee, criminals will speed away and potentially still cause accidents even without the police pursuit. They know they can run free and clear now. So lets broadcast the change for all of them to hear. Just another reason the good people move out of the city.

I believe the chasing has to stop. But it should be the chief that should stop chasing after married women not the officers chasing after the bad guys. Who's chasing the bad guys the chief or the officers? Let the officers decide if they are at risk. So you're a drunk driver getting pulled over just don't stop and you'll get away with it because the police won't chase you. Nice message chief.

i say if they're (criminals) are willing to put innocent persons in danger by fleeing from the police they become legitimate targets for deadly measures to prevent it.

300 fewer officers on the streets ? Thats a relieve, anyhow apparently when they harrass citizens all 9 of them are at one place at the same time on a Friday night ! So its no wonder their Budget is going down to the crappers ! And to know that the Higher ups authorize this kind of rendevouz !!

I find the chief's new directive a bit troubling, but we all need to remember as easily as it was changed, it can be changed back. I know some about law enforcement, and the main concept of policing is discretion. I believe officers will continue to pursue some suspects and they will let others go based on their discretion. Also, for those of you Flynn "bashers", shut up, we should be lucky he is in Milwaukee, he is the premier police chief in the U.S. right now regardless of his extra activities. The second he leaves for a bigger place such as New York or LA you people will be whining again. Keep that in mind.

I almost lost my life in an accident from the MPD chasing someone who had just commented a crime. But MPD was chasing without any sirens, so I was not prepared to move over. But if the lights and sirens are on I do not see a problem with them getting to the bad guy or girl, as long as they do it properly. MPD does not know what they are in for, to let go of 300 offices, we are all in a world of trouble. It will be more than just a crime spree going on here. I guess I will looking for a new place to locate at, because no civilized person will be able to.

You are absolutely correct! Granted,...No one wants to see innocent bystanders injured or killed during one of these high-speed chases, BUT,...Giving the criminals a free pass to run rampant on our streets is totally unacceptable, too. Obviously, the MPD didn't think this decision through clearly. I pray that they rethink their decision & come up with a better & more logical solution.

Yes the milwaukee policr should stop chasing after cars because they killed my kids father back in 2004 of july drew to a traffic stop thank you very much for allowing the change it is time that someone is hearing our voices its been hard because the courts or the cheif never wanted to hear the stories of what milwaukee police been doing for years now its a law that they have to stop chasing these cars for no serious reason thank you for listening and passing that LAW.
