Danny all my life I have dreamed of singing. I do sing for church worship, specials. I am a mom of two great young guys. They both love the lord and my youngest has a beautiful voice and my oldest has a heart as big as the ocean. Their dad left me for our neighbor after 21 yrs. of marriage, he only sees them maybe twice a month or so. I hurt for them, we have a VERY small family left, they have lost two of their grandparents in the past year, and my parents ten yrs ago 16 mos. apart. My dad died at 57,massive heart attack, and my mother died of Cancer, fought for three yrs. I miss her soooooo much. We saw you at Indy. Conseco fieldhouse, and you should have been the American Idol! You are in our hearts! Sophia must be so happy looking down on you and proud of you. As a mom and young girl I wanted to sing soooo bad, and now my youngest wants to and I will do anything to get him there, my oldest is almost a Respiratory Therapist he is so sweet! God Bless your heart for giving kids the chance you have experienced! I wish we could go to one of the programs but we live in Villa Grove, Illinois. We would LOVE to go on the cruise with you but I have had 5 back surgeries, by the grace of God I am still walking and working, and I fought Thyroid cancer and I can hit notes I have never hit before! Praise God. But I have a VERY hard time making ends meet, but as much as we would LOVE to go with you, I just don't have the money Danny, but we love you and we are praying for your cruise, and we are still working hard for Sophia! Your a sweetie! Thank you for being an idol your kids can look up to! Kim Grussing, Matthew and Dustin.

I've always believed in Danny Gokey since I first heard of him and his story, his voice, his ambitions! So wonderful that a young hot artist would give so much of his time to help others instead of just basking in his own limelight! Wish we had more people like him!

I'm inspired!

We LOVE YOU, DANNY!!! I and my wife's life have been impacted by you like no other person EVER has! Genuine, TALENTED like no other as you sing and tell us real stories from the HEART.
Real, God-loving, generous ( We saw the SHF Foundation opening in Milwaukee, my wife say's..."he's so sweet, and he has such cute, smiley eyes!) We had pics taken w/ u in Franklin, NC on April 3.
Remember? We are in our 50's, I'm gray with gold-rimmed specs and she's beautiful, wears specs and was red and bawlin' her eyes out! She and I really love you. Each time we speak your name, we cry. God has indeed blessed this earth with your presence on it. We think of you always, and pray for your continued success, for when it happens, the world becomes better. We donate every month to SHF. Comes right out of the bank account, even if it makes it go in the hole. Try to remember. After the show, I was alone when you signed my shirt. Debbie is disabled. Her vertebrae are crap, and she couldn't stand any longer, and went to the car. She wanted ( well, kinda) to take off her shirt and give it to me to get signed. I told you then you had changed our lives, I turned around and you signed: To Tommy, DJGokey, like you always do, and we were gone. we did not want to leave. We wanted to take you home with us or something, you know? Honestly. OK, Danny, I'm gonna say it now. I've written a lot of poetry and lyrics over the years. Everyone from Deb and her family to my English Lit professor says it is my calling. I had had a stack of writings 3 feet thick, and lost them because we couldn't pay the storage they were in. They were auctioned, and I KNOW there's some out there. I don't have many now. Oh, yeah. I'm fighting a disability battle from trauma suffered on the job. But hey, everybody's gotta suffer. I'm supposed to graduate community college in May. I have some psychological issues, and this close, I'm worried to death about calculus. I'll have, IF they let me wear my cap and gown on May 15, an AA and AS. I'll be the first in my family, and my head's big as a pumpkin! Of course, it just depends on what I can do with two college degrees. Man, truth is, all I've ever done was hard labor for a livin', and my back has been operated on. It' crap, like Debbie's, only not nearly as bad. Anyway, tweet me, brother. I can write stuff, man. And it ain't bad. Besides, every breath you take, me and Deb wonder what you're doin' and how you are. We were absolutely devastated by the unspeakable loss of your beloved Sophia as you were rehearsing for Idol. Our infinite sympathies and continued prayers are with you each day. WE LOVE YOU DANNY!!! Tommy and Debra Yarbrough, 3 hours east from Franklin in Vale, NC
