More shame for Congress - tying up the wounded in red tape
They produce legislation that hurts people. They add more harm to soldiers who are severely wounded.

Nothing new with the DOD or VA to mess up paper work or delay claims / awards or even just end the claim or put it on hold WHY well cause the VA or DOD does not know what to do next with ALL there own paper work and the Veterans paper work it get sidelined and move on to the next claim!
I say to help yourself on claims by - once you start a claim give it three months and CALL and find out where it's at in the claim system
Also make sure you have COPYS of ALL paper work forms you filled out - ALL medical proof for said claim - ALL letters from the VA and From Dr's -
Go to ALL medical appoints they ask you to go to and do not talk unless asked a question WHY the more you say about yourself the worst it works for you awards wise!
How do you feel = ok I guess - NOT fine Dr. doing good NO your not feeling fine your there cause of a old wound and claims you filed for saying your not just fine!
More Veterans louse out on claims cause of what is said to Dr's in the VA system and outside Dr's the VA send YOU to for a said claim!
Claims that could have been awarded at 80% or higher are now at 10 to 30% cause of OPEN mouth insert FOOT!!!
Yes the VA is not 100% on paper work or claims paper work but you can help yourself by learning the system and learning about your wounds / PTSD or what ever your claim is for.
Get what is owed to you and keep mouth shut is best!
I have filed claims since 1978 and have done them myself and WON ALL claims I put in for cause I learned the lingo and paper work the VA needs wonts and I got ALL my information on line!
Stay up on paper work red tape or just new forms
YOU have to be on top or you will get flused out of the system quick!
Fact - Did you know that out of 10,000 claims to the VA over 4,000 are sent back cause of blank info they were asking for or veteran did not sign the forms!
make the red tape go away by understand the WHY and forms needed and tearms of words used with in the forms:
Wish ALL good luck and Welcome home..........

Yes I agree, the more you say, the longer your claim. With each visit the doctor will compare your last visit. If you complain about a new ache or pain, this can delay ANY paperwork for any justified reason the VA see fit to endure. Keep your answers simple like you were dealing with a 5th grader. If you have a medical issue present it with times and dates. Accuracy is important here. Remember doctors review records to FIND inaccuracies in your statement. If you tell the doc this medication is not working, explain when you started it, keep records, and get a second outside opinion if necessary. I have found outside opinions for me, helped but I am not filing a disabled claim, so this may not be a good idea, if you go to another doctor. Depending on your health. The VA is very slow to diagnose but keep your appointments every three months and not beyond that.
I had a vet who was diagnosed with lung cancer related to agent orange and although he went into remission for two years, his follow ups were only every six months and we all know that cancer can return at any time. Within the six month period after two years of remission, his cancer had returned beyond the point of help. It spread to his spine but could have been diagnosed if followed up every three months, I feel. Yes, he got all the money that was due him but this should have never happened and that is due to the poor follow up so keep your eyes open and follow up often!
