I flew as a crewmember on the AWACS/E-3 for over 20 years and truly think she is a very beautiful aircraft! I also like to Thank You Del City for putting up the replica! However, I have to say that the replica you have on display looks nothing like her! For instance, her nose is much smaller, narrower and a bit longer not compressed and fattened like your replica or the nose of a C-17 cargo aircraft. Her engines are much smaller and do not have the Nacelle going up over the leading edge of the wing. In addition, her rear fuselage is not wide and flat as it appears in the your replica - she has a more defined and tapered rear fuselage.
Please consider remodeling your replica to resemble the actual E-3/AWACS!
Sincerely,
Mark A. Page ([email protected])

I agre with Mark, The replica looks NOTHING like the aircraft that many of us spent thousands of hours on. Del City, You've hosted our aircraft and aircrews for over 30 years. I would at least expect something that looks more the part of a very special aircraft. I'm truly disappointed.

That statue is really awful. Has no one in Del City ever looked up when an E-3 flies over? There are many excellent photos, drawings and paintings of the E-3. Were any of these consulted? Did you get some school kids to make this out of cardboard? If you didn't have the money do put up a nicer statue then you shouldn't have done it all. I've flown on the E-3 for almost 17 years as an enlisted aircrew member and I've lived in Oklahoma for all those years. Show some respect for the military members who bring so much money into your community and PLEASE remove this horrble thing or replace it with a more accurate likeness. It's embarrassing.

That is one ugly airplane, not even close to what an E3 looks like. It is an abomination not only to the Air Force / Tinker AFB but to the Boeing Company as well.

Praying for a tornado to take it away

Looks like they are going to put up two more of those ugly E3 statues. Are those a high school shop project ? They sure look like it. They do no justice to that big Boeing E3

So the solution to one really bad/inaccurate E-3/707 model was to add several more?!? Sadly, the rotodome has also fallen off of one.
