PETA probably killed that rooster, too. worst of all, they have the nerve to demand that my precious University of South Carolina Gamecocks remove their spurs!

I have done this training, and I have something to say about it. To all those who are calling my brothers and I psycho, where did anybody say that we enjoyed it? It was done as a necessary training exercise. We learn how to use our blood clotting powder (Quick Clot), tourniquets, and various other items in a standard issued first aid kit. It was anything but enjoyable knowing that these pigs were dying, but if it's going to make sure that Marines, soldiers, and sailors know how to save lives on the battlefield, I'll do it. I would much rather lose a couple of pigs than a couple of Marines. Wow, I value human life more than animal life, I am such a savage!

well said, joeboy. it's not like they were shooting animals for fun - which i think is legal in most states and called hunting. besides, where do they think most of our medical advances come from? that quick clot sounds pretty cool.

to just accept such stupid violence lessens our progress to a civil society. This act would be illegal in most settings, but we are being taught viloence and torture etc are Ok if it's done by the military. USA is dying.

petakillsanimals.com I wish they'd lose their power. Does EVERYBODY not know what PETA is up to with their $30 million/year operation? They are so effed up!!!! Spread the word about PETA!!!!

We are using live pigs to learn how to treat and provide first aid for gunshot wounds?
Peta says "use human simulators" How much do they cost?$$$$$$$$$
America complains about the defense spending.
Meanwhile dogfights, cockfights, puppy mills, animal hoarders, abusers, neglectors, illegal exotic collectors all continue unabated. And where is peta? fu*kin with the troops. Not where they could be making a bigger and more effective difference.
If PETA were truely interested in saving animals
they should be donating their time and efforts at local ASPCA offices nationwide. Not providing lip service.
Actions speak louder than words.
Folks there are other places and other things you could do to make a more profound difference for animals. I don't condone animal cruelty, but if it helps save human lives at a lower cost than so be it.

Absolutely zero respect. I argue that only true farm animals, as opposed to commercial corps, be allowed to slaughter pigs, cattle, chickens. We'd all be a lot healthy and far more sane.

The military has been out of control for decades. How can we expect more from an Imperial Nazi-Bolshevik culture that invades hundreds of countries overtly AND covertly, then torture the survivors.

Just crap. Poor pigs.

The Quick-Clot is pretty good stuff. Unfortunately, you have to get it directly on the wound. If you get too much on the sides the moisture from the blood will clot it up so much that it blocks it from clotting ni the wound and stopping the bleeding. That sucks because then you have to dig it out of the wound and start over. It can be tough to get it in there just right, especially with the victim moving a lot (after, who just lies there calmly after being shot in an artery or something)? That's why it's so important to have this training so you can get it down and not let your fellow Marines die when they get shot.

Thanks for the info. It seems like a real life saver. Probably works well with a sucking chest wound.
Thanks for your's and your buds service.

I know you were following orders. Here's the thing. The rest of the world used to respect our military. Now, after allegations of torture, and unprovoked war in Iraq and now live pig target practice, the honor you so deserve has been replaced by disgust.

Thanks for fighting for my right to freedom of speech, whether it is something you want to hear or not.

I shudder at the thought of what our enemies will now to do our captured soldiers. Did you ever consider that scenario?

Because we are doing live tissue tests on pigs? Muslims could care less about pigs.

You seem to infer that this culture never caputured or beheaded any of their captives before March of 2003.

Understand the culture. This is a culture that kills thier daughters for some type of family honor...when the daughter is raped, or of her own free will has sex with her boyfriend.

This is a culture that stones women who looking for a way out of an abusive relationship, cheat on their husbands.

This is a culture that has no qualms with strapping their children and mentally challenged young people up with explosives and sending them into a market in Tel Aviv or Baghdad.

This is an old school culture that believes in an eye for an eye and tooth for a tooth. Most of us understood that going in.

There is nothing about muslim culture that you could educate me on, my friend. We all read the papers and since 9/11, most Americans know more about Islam than we ever cared to know.

Yes they are barbaric. Yes they are mired in tradition. But, if we stick to your 'eye for an eye' we'll all be blind.

The Geneva Convention put rules in place that stood the test of time for over 50 years to insure that soldiers captured would be treated humanely. What the world has seen from our soldiers is 'shock and awe' on a country that did NOT attack us on 9/11. Then we tortured their citizens and now we shoot pigs because in the almost 300 years of American history, pig practice MUST take place. No other form of training will prepare our soldiers for combat.

B.S. Uber-BS

This is just another sad demonstration of what private companies have done to our military. I bet if someone searched hard enough, the pigs are probably provided by a company that Dick Cheney is invested in and selling the piggies to the military for 100X their value. It's disgraceful.

God only knows what these terrorists will do to future captured American soldiers.

There is no need for me to "search" for anything. I know the facts.
You made the statements the "US invaded 100s of countries and tortured the survivers".
Back it up or redact the statement. You might learn a few things in the .
