WASHINGTON Congress should repeal the "don't ask, don't tell" law because the presence of gays in the military is unlikely to undermine the ability to fight and win, according to a new study released by a California-based research center. The study was conducted by four retired military officers, including the three-star Air Force lieutenant general who in early 1993 was tasked with implementing President Clinton's policy that the military stop questioning recruits on their sexual orientation. more.

Such foolish children they are. Being open about who you are will actually cut down on things that a person can get blackmailed over. Foreign spies who are recruiting won't be able to use such things against a person in the military anymore either.

I hope that any repeal of DADT includes provisions for the legally same sex married persons of California and Massachusetts who serve in our military to obtain all the rights and benefits entitled to them and their dependents.

Yes, I am hopeful the Congress and military will respect and respond favorably to this research.
