As an Aussie, I agree with the protests regarding the US domination of Australia and the arrogant behaviour of the U.S in now thrusting its way into Australia and making a larger military presence here when it is clearly not wanted!.

At the next federal election, I'll be voting against the US alliance as 'Americanism' is symbolic with trouble- arrogance, bullying, warmongering and a completely self absorbed nation that is intent upon world domination and military empire building.
Yanks just go home and do the world a favour by leaving people alone. Recognize that the U.S itelf IS the problem.
No-one likes foreign bases on their soil and my family and friends are very anti american now.
If you're 'allies' are alienated then you've got bigger problems than you think.
Pack up and go hom, you're not welcome and nor is your horrid coarse culture and empire building.

Hold on a second there, robin tripp...you can't just sit there and start bashing all us yanks because of that idiot who stole the presidential election, the big "W"...It seems every time we get a Republican in as president, they go off on some kind of militaristic kick, and want to expand the military...even to places where the US military isn't wanted or needed. I'm glad I came across this thread, becvause I wasn't aware of the situation, a mate of mine in Manjimup hasn't mentioned it...nor my mates in Geelong, and South Grafton

Yeah, I know how it feels. I didn't like it when the Mexican family moved in next door and starting trashing their yard and playing very loud music. And not respecting the property boundaries. I didn't much care for the Pit Bull on leash who barked all the time. Anyway...

I think only those who have abundance of pain desire any sort of change. Many confuse the abhorrence of change with the messenger from it arrives. Not the same thing!

It's not America that's the Bully. It's CHANGE mostly.

bob, the Aussies I've met are beautiful people. They're pretty laid back, very helpful, and don't take themselves too seriously. And I love OZ humour...A mate aked me about where I lived, and I told him Southgate, Michigan. He then asked me "who bought the pub there?" I didn't understand at first, being a newbie to strine and OZ humour, but after another mate straightened me out, I told him " some bloke from NSW bought it...He's bottling horse piss, and passing it off as Fosters..."

No, I'm not voting for another "shrubbery"...I would actually like to see Hillary run for prez...

Yes he bloody well did! And us yanks are taking the heat for it! I made a comment under a Bush thread, saying that if I had to put up with another bush regime, I was going to pack up my Falcon and head for OZ. some flagwaving "jarhead" told me good riddence, and to take the other anti-Bush idiots with me! It really cracks me up to hear other people that blindly follow our leaders tell me this! Get your bloody head out of big "W"'s arse!! Most yanks are dead set against his constant fooling with world affairs!

You Aussies didn't seem to mind a large U.S. Military presence when the Japenese fleet was headed down under.

Americans and Aussie's have been allies in more then one conflict. The WWII American vets that I have seen interviewed have a very , very high opinion of the Aussie solder. One quote was that there were not many of them but their did not need to be as they demonstrated unbelievable bravery. Our two countries will always be better if we enjoy what we have in common and not let others divide us. I think the world is a better place for having the Aussies .

I'm confused. Every time a US Navy ship pulls in to any of the cities in Australia, they're welcomed like super stars.. hmm.

Typical liberal logic: "At a time of heightened global tension and the conflict in the Middle East, I think many people will object to Western Australia being used as target practice," said Senator Siewart. "

At a time of heightened global tension and the conflict in the Middle East, this is all the more reason why the militaries of the free nations, including Australia's, must be thoroughly trained and ready to fight.

Merry Christmas to all.

10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

Luke 2:10-11
