Yes but probably before the time you are looking for.
I was stationed on both Midway Island and Hawaii in 1960,61, and 62.
I was on a flight crew on #23 until they decided to take AEs off
of flight crews.

I was an AK striker during 1959-1960. Anyone station on the rock during those years must shurely remember chief Williams. At that time he was the senior chief in the entire Navy. Had over 40 years of active duty. Sort of a gruff ole goat but a heart of gold. I remember one day passing him in the breeze way and saying "good morning chief, how are you?" His reply was "I'd be a lot better if you'd get a haircut."

I was an AE2 when I left the Squadron in Aug. 1962. Arrived in April 1960. I also did a little cooking during those 14 hour+ trips. It didn't hurt my feelings (or my pay) when we were removed from the crews. I was assigned to # 31.

Does anyone remember an AT1 named Benoit? Married to a Native American lady. Cannot remember their whole names. 1961 through 64. johnsonL043@hawaii.rr.com

I was in supply then. There was an AE1 or AT1 who had the supply shop for the squadron. Cannot remember his name. He had a pretty Native American wife. Wish I knew their names. Do you recall him?

Yes, I was stationed at Midway 1959-1960. I was right out of boot camp and was assigned to work as an aviation storekeeper. I worked in the supply warehouse which was located inside of the big W-2V hanger. Lots of good memories.

I am trying to find out some information about the braking systems of the Super Constellations and the Willie Victors, as a storekeeper would you have any knowledge of what products were used in the braking systems of these aircraft.....

I was stationed on the rock 1959-1960. I was a 17 year old AK striker. Couldn't wait to get off the island, For years I had dreams of being sent back )=: Now, I really wish I could revisit Midway. Funny how that works. Sadly though, I understand that Midway has been under control of the Department of Interior for many years and DOI has let it become literally trashed by ship waste washed up upon the island. The Goonies and other natural inhabitants are suffering terribly as a result. This is so terrible. Wish there was something we as former AEWBARRON sailors could do about this. My email is andrew.beard@sbcglobal.net Would really enjoying hearing from any of you.
