Oh, the great memories I had there as a kid.
My father was Master Sargent Wayne F. McCoy and we lived there until it changed hands with the Navy. We transferred to Orlando Florida and after dad returned from Viet Nam My parents retired there. Both have now passed on.
I always felt so safe there and loved hearing the aircraft landing at all hours.

Albany will not be able to preserver its history if there is no people in Albany. The city council prevents current and new businesses from wanting to be in Albany. Years ago Albany was a loction many surrounding town companies wanted to go to, now companies can find better incentives and reason to stay where they are or move hours away than Albany. The city commerce department should put together two reports, 1. list of new company start-ups in Albany in the last 5 years and 2. list of Companies that have left Albany in the last 5 years and you will see a trend - Not a healthy one either. So to preserver the history of Albany, Albany needs to start preserving its presents first.
