Dear readers, our country suffers when racism is a factor in job selection or non selection. I have observed the ugly effects of racism in the uniform and as a civil servant.
Air Force needs to look at records to see how jobs are filled based on qualification, experience and race. Why wait for a complaint?.
Like crimes against women, many cases of racism go unreported.
I was proud to serve, I hope the dirty games will be reduced.

Remember to select the best person for the job and we all will win.
See America, not color.

Iam a member of the Armed forces and I'm appalled by the lies that racism is a thing of the past in the military.Sadly, it is ever present in your face and hardly hidden. In my office I have experienced the brunt of in equality also when I was assigned a special duty. The equal opportunity office was of little help I described the situation they admitted it was discrimination which they have 0 tolerance for, took it up to the chief at the time who rejected it. He claimed that it doesn't prove discrimination but that the entire flight should undergo eo training. The eo rep. was horrible she seemed crazy giving the course and might as well just point me out. I was treated worse given reprisals which eo told me to come to them if that was the case. But this scum of an eo person closed the door in my face and basically told me to deal with it. The black ppl were not of much help either, as they are some of the dumbest ppl with no connection to history.

I am so happy to see that although the USAF has a way to go``` they have come a long way.
I remember the days when Black Air force personnel were not even allowed to occupy base housing. My husband was a WW11 combat veteran who came home to have his service rewarded with segregation, and racial segregation. My daughter is a member of the new AF, I am glad things have changed. My two brothers also served in the Air Force, one being killed in the line of duty.
and as a note to the poster "fnord" whites have never been discriminated against in the history of this country

There is racism from the top enlisted man down in my Air Force red horse squadron, 823. The commander is in denile about the problems and just try to hide them and say, not my unit. All politics, thats what it boils down to. I want to get my star, just want to look good on paper. Just like the half assed jobs that are pushed to get done down range, so he can make him self look go on paper. What a bunch of bull shit, really phoneys. It`s not about the troops, nor the country, Its about me....
