"Unlike Rio Mesa, the report said, Sonoran West and Siberia would employ molten salt energy storage systems that continue generating electricity after sunset."
If you have no storage capacity, then the massive land usage and step up, step down electrical losses make the plant less effective than say 1 million homes with 3 to 4KW peak solar PV systems on their roofs.
