Marine SGT. Lawrence J. Fruci passed away July 21, 2012 at the Hines V.A. Hospital in Chicago, Il.
Sgt. Fruci served in the Pacific area during World War II and was awarded a bronze star for actions on okinawia while the Second Marine Division fought against the Imperial Japanese Armed Forces.
Sgt Fruci was Honorable Discharged after Japan surrendered in 1945. He married his long time sweetheart upon his return and raised three children. Sgt Fruci was true to the heart when it came to his beloved Marine Corps. He was a lifelong member of the second Marine Divison association and numerous other military orgainzations.
He leaves behind his wife of 52yrs and his three children.
Sgt Fruci was relieved of all duties and given PCS orders to the Marine Guard Detachment, Heavan, Under the command of Saint Peter, and upon reporting shall be assigned duties guarding the gates of heavan.
You served our country, our corps, our way of life and will be sorly missed.
