The housing on post is privatized...so the bah just goes to the housing company. Nice try though.

Not to mention what it would do to the Hinesville housing market. Also an e without dependents is not authorized to live off post and doesn't recieve bah.

Yeah, so I'll just sell the home I bought in your community and not shop local. Since I can get everything I need on post, right? What do you think will happen to your town if the military up and left? Better learn how to dirt farm.

Who would say something so stupid? I wish Ft. Stewart and retired military would get together and just spend one month not buying anything in Hinesville just go to base or somewhere else and spend your hard earned money these idiots who believe that Hinsville would survive would have a different opinion. I am not military but I'm very grateful for all you do. I know some walk around like low class disrespectful trash or thugs but that's just a few no one type of occupation has all good workers

I do not think they should be forced to live on post, but speaking from experience I think they might be better off. We lived off post when we were there and looking back it was a mistake. Theclandlors were awful and did not want to take care of issues with their properties. Maybe they have changed over the years, but before you rent do yourselves a huge favor and talk to other tenants. We did not do that and that was our mistake! We did not buy because we knew we weren't going to make Hinesville our home. If you buy, that is a totally different story. You don't have to worry about shady landlords or slumlords.
